Youth,
High School and Adult Leagues and Tournaments
All leagues
and teams will play according to the rules established by the following:
Roster Size
The maximum roster size for each team is as follows:
- Youth Leagues
- 18 players
- High School
and Adult Leagues - 14 players
- Tournaments
- Youth 14 players, Adult 12 players
Player Positions
Only 7 players,
including the goalkeeper, are allowed on the field at any one time.
- 2 Attack
- 2 Middies
- 2 Long Pole
Defense
Substitutions
Substitutions are on the fly through the box area and may be done
at anytime. The substituted player must be off the field before
the change.
Equipment
All players must be fully equipped-helmet, arm/shoulder pads, gloves,
protective cup and mouth guard.
* Note:
For youth, high school and adult females, all players must be fully
equipped according to the rules set forth by U.S. Women's Lacrosse.
Goalies - Helmet with throat guard, chest protector, protective
girdle, gloves and shin guards.
League and
Tournament Standings
Standings will be determined as follows:
- Most points
(win = 3, tie = 2, loss = 0) Note: In tournaments, a tie = 1
- Head to head
(does not apply if more than two teams are tied in points)
- Goals against
- Goals for
- if still
tied a sudden death "Golden Goal Brave Heart" will result
Game Duration
League Play - The duration of each game will be 50
minutes, running time. Two 25 minute halves with a five minute break
between halves.
Tournament
Play - The duration of each game will be 25 minutes, running
time. The final game will be 40 minutes long. Two 20 min halves
with a 5 min half time. Teams will switch ends at the end of the
half.
Timeouts
League Play - One 30 second timeout per team per half
will be allowed.
Tournament
Play - One 30 second timeout per team will be allowed. 2
per half for the final game.
Starting
Game and 2nd Half
Male Leagues - There will be a Face-off at the beginning
of each half.
Female
Leagues - There will be a Draw at the beginning of each
half.
Tournaments
- There will be one Face-off at the beginning of each game. There
will be a Face-Off at the beginning of each half for the final game.
Scoring
- The Crease
rule applies.
- After each
goal, play will resume with the goalie clearing the ball.
Penalties
- The outdoors-offside
rule applies (2 players from each team must stay behind the midline).
- There will
be a "No Body Checking" rule enforced in all leagues.
Controlled stick checking is allowed.
Male Leagues
- Technical
Fouls will result in a loss of possession.
- Personal
Fouls will result in a "Fast Break" situation.
- Flagrant
Fouls may result in a game suspension or expulsion from the league.
Female
Leagues
- All penalties
will result in an Indirect Penalty Shot.
- Flagrant
Fouls may result in a game suspension or expulsion from the league.
Tournaments
- Technical
Fouls will result in a loss of possession.
- Personal
Fouls will result in a "Fast Break" situation.
- Players that
commit a foul will exit the game and may re-enter the game after
one line change.
- Flagrant
Fouls may result in a game suspension or expulsion from the tournament.
General
Inappropriate
language or un-sportsman like behavior by the players and/or coaches
will not be tolerated.
Any ejected
player or coach is ineligible for their next game. The DIRECTORS
reserve the right to permanently suspend particularly unruly players
or coaches.
NO protest will
be entertained.
